Who we are
Camlin Connect is a platform of Nuamedia, ABN 57 153 868 949 (“we”, “us”). You can contact us about anything in this policy at contact@nuamedia.com.au.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the public Camlin Connect website at www.camlinconnect.com.au — the pages you can read without an account, the account-request, purchase-enquiry and contact forms, the Companion assistant on these pages, and the hand-off to the platform’s sign-in service. It does not cover the Camlin Connect platform behind sign-in, or websites our customers publish on the platform, which are governed by the applicable customer agreement and the customer’s own policies.
It also covers health information in what you upload or type in Camlin Create at create.camlinconnect.com.au, as the section “Health information in what you upload or type” describes.
Information you give us on forms
- Account request: name, email, company and what you want to build — recorded in our access-review queue so a person can approve your account and we can respond.
- Purchase enquiry: name, work email, organisation and the tier you selected — recorded so we can respond commercially. We do not collect card or payment details on this site.
- Contact form: name, email, company and your message — delivered to Nuamedia so we can respond.
We use this information to respond to you and for no other purpose. It is handled by Nuamedia directly and is not sold or shared with third parties, other than the service providers who host our infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, Sydney region).
The Companion assistant
The Companion assistant on these pages does nothing until you open it. It listens through your microphone only if you then allow that in your browser.
When you speak, your audio goes to our Camlin Speech service in Sydney, which turns it into text. The audio is not stored. What you type or say, and the Companion’s replies, are handled by the Camlin Connect runtime in Sydney, which sends your messages, with relevant content from this site, to an AI model provider to produce an answer. We don’t send them your name or contact details unless you include them in what you say. Every spoken reply is made by Microsoft’s Azure Speech service in Singapore, which receives the text the avatar speaks.
We keep Companion conversations for up to 30 days, to run and improve the assistant, and then delete them. Please don’t tell the Companion anything sensitive. Its answers are generated by AI and can be wrong.
Health information in what you upload or type
In Camlin Create you can upload files (pictures, PDFs, Word and text documents) and type messages. These could contain health information, which Australian privacy law treats as sensitive information. Please don’t upload health records or medical images, or include identifiers such as a Medicare number or your date of birth. Camlin is not a medical service.
If you include health information anyway, you agree to us handling it as this section says. We use it only to answer your request. To do that, we send it to the AI provider that runs your chat, in the United States: OpenAI by default, xAI if you choose a Grok model, or Anthropic for your messages if you choose a Claude model. That is a disclosure outside Australia (Australian Privacy Principle 8).
We store your files and conversations encrypted, with Amazon Web Services: in Sydney for Australian accounts and in US East (N. Virginia) for US accounts. A conversation stays with its project until you delete the project. Files you upload are deleted when you delete the project they’re in (unless another of your projects still uses them), when you close your account, or when you ask us to delete them. They aren’t deleted just because time has passed. We don’t use your files or messages to train AI models, and we don’t sell them.
The Companion has no file upload. Anything you tell it is kept for up to 30 days, as described above.
To see what we hold, or to have it deleted, email contact@nuamedia.com.au.
If you’re in the United States: Nuamedia isn’t a health care provider or health plan, so HIPAA doesn’t apply to us, and what you upload or type isn’t a medical record.
Signing in
When you sign in, you are redirected to the platform’s login service (Amazon Cognito, hosted in the AWS Sydney region), which authenticates you — with an email and password, or through Google if your organisation uses it — and returns you to the platform. The login service handles your credentials; this website never sees your password. Sign-in state is held by the login service and the platform, not by pages on this site.
Information collected automatically
Our infrastructure records standard request logs — IP address, requested page, browser user agent, response status and timing — retained for up to 90 days for security and reliability. We use these logs to operate and protect the service, including investigating misuse.
We measure how the site is used with our own analytics service, at analytics.nuamedia.com.au, which runs in Sydney. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records page views, how far you read, clicks on main buttons and links, which form was opened and whether it was sent (never what you typed), and that a Companion conversation started (never what was said). It uses your IP address, when the event arrives, to work out an approximate location and a visitor code that changes every day, then discards the IP address. Event records are kept for up to 400 days; totals that don’t identify anyone are kept longer. Our analytics honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends either signal, it records nothing about your visit.
This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookies involved in using it are those the sign-in service and the authenticated platform set for their own operation.
Disclosure and storage
- Processing and storage occur in Australia (AWS Sydney region), except as below.
- We disclose personal information only: to our hosting providers as above; to the AI model providers and the voice service that run the Companion; to our email provider, for enquiries you send us; where you have asked us to; or where required by law.
- The Companion’s AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini) may process your conversation outside Australia, including in the United States, and every spoken reply is made by Microsoft’s Azure Speech service in Singapore, which receives the text the avatar speaks. We take reasonable steps, including through our contracts with them, to make sure they handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. By starting the Companion you consent to this.
- Files you upload and messages you type in Camlin Create go to an AI model provider in the United States, as “Health information in what you upload or type” describes.
- Purchase and contact enquiries you send from this site are passed to nuamedia.com.au and emailed through Google’s Gmail service, which may process them outside Australia.
- Otherwise we do not disclose personal information to overseas recipients in the ordinary operation of this site.
Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing contact@nuamedia.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are unsatisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new version number and effective date.
